A dictionary defines Photo (fo.to) as a representation of a person or scene in the form of a print or transparent slide; recorded by a camera on light-sensitive material. What it doesn’t define are the memories attached it to, the moment captured in time, intangible emotion in a tangible form.
Sepia toned pictures
Childhood captured in rare frames
Black and white pictures of a marriage
Grainy colour pictures of their children
The first fancy dress competition
The front tooth missing
The awkward teenage years
A sulking face
Five friends
One tryst with making Maggi
The convocation
The first sari
The first big party
Cheerful banter
A coffee shop
A shy smile
A lazy afternoon of reading
Carefree laughter
A lovely holiday
Wind in her hair
A chubby baby
A toothless grin
The warmth of family
Captured for eternity
Post inspired by casually traversing through my e-mail inbox and phone memory. And they say technology makes us distant. Hmmmph!
Vignettes of life of a twenty something, leaving footprints in the virtual sands of time. I rant, rave and muse about family, friends, work, society and everything in between!

French quotation:
Ce que la photographie reproduit à l'infini n'a lieu qu'une fois.
-Roland Barthes-
Les photos sont là, et il ne te reste plus qu'à les prendre.
-Endre Friedmann, aka Robert Capa-
and for my greatest pleasure:
Une mauvaise photo qui rappelle vos traits vaut mieux qu'un beau paysage qui ne vous ressemble pas.
-Pierre Dac-
approximative translation:
The subject a photography reproduce for/to eternity, happens only once.
Photos are right there, you just have to take them.
and
A bad photography of your person is better than a good photography of a landscape that is nothing to you.
Moai
hi Zephy
on seeing the topic i thought i was on my o3 photoblog as it has the same nameP:P
well, no matter hw advanced cameras get, or how many more megapixels are added to our cells, the joy of seeing ur childhood, those B/W photos, the grainy positives is second to none. these pictures tho old are moments freezed in time, a moment that can never be relived. bottomline - old photographs still rule.
take care
ciao
hey NG cud u please tell me how u added the archives? i wanna do the same of my photoblog on o3.
thanks in advance
take care
ciao

I keep doin that ever so often.. its a way u look up 2 urself to find something within u..
Sometimes one gets to find things which are totally unexpected..
Salut Moai,
Thanks for the wonderful quotes :)
The first two I agree with
But the last I don’t … I like landscapes too!
Hi TD,
I took your copyright… unknowingly though :D
Old photos totally rule!! Infact I make doing a portrait series of my youngest niece and my close friends so we can look back at those in the future and laugh about the good old days :)
The archives… I am doing it the difficult way.. pain strikingly copy pasting from my old blog… dunno if there is an easy way out…
Hey Rp,
I love going thru my old pics a lot.. maybe I am a sentimental fool :D
And I cant believe how weird I used to look in my early teens!!
Hey Pras
Mooning snap :D :D :D
Yeah some can be really embarrassing... there is one of my sis at age 3 kissing a boy who was the same age… we still tease her abt it now…
Hey Vrij
I know!! Sometimes you miss something and when you look again you can’t imagine how you missed this thing…
Salut,
The quote is very subtle.Very.
got me nostalgic.
Hey PRS (can I call you that?)
